Maps

Last week our spelling word family was 'ap'.

We thought that it would be fun to make some maps to help us remember this spelling chunk.

Our maps are all different.

Here are some of them. Come into Room 3 to look at the rest.

More 100 day activities

We can do '100 Fitness'.
We stood along the lines on the rugby field and took 100 steps.

Some of us took giant elephant steps and some of us took normal walking steps.

Look how far we ended up!

How far can you walk in one hundred steps?

Our poem this week was also about being at school for 100 days.... can you read it?

100 day celebration

Each morning we count the number of days we have been at school on a 100s board.
Today we have been at school for 100 days!

To celebrate we made 100s crowns and then we iced biscuits with the numbers 1, 0, 0.
We had to make sure we put the biscuits in the right order to make 100.

I wonder when our next 100 party will be?

Jack and the Beanstalk

During the last week of the second term, Mrs Pearson told us that we were going to be doing activities about a boy, magic beans,a cow and a giant.

One morning when we got to school a beanstalk had grown.

We published our Jack stories on leaves and attached them to  the beanstalk.

We also made stick puppets to retell the story.

Come into Room 3 and read our stories, and ask us to retell Jack and the Beanstalk to you.

Shared Reading

Each week we read a shared book together.  One of our favourites so far this year has been Jill Eggleton's story of 'The Fun Bus'.

After reading this book, we wrote stories and talked about the kind of buses we would like to travel in.

Here are two examples, come into our classroom to read about the other buses.
