Wheel Safety with Constable Marty

In the afternoon Constable Marty went over some basic Wheel safety.  We learnt that we MUST be wearing a helmet if we ride anything with wheels as it protects our soft brain in our heads.

To make our helmet fit correctly we need to remember the numbers 2, 4, and 1.
2 fingers on our forehead is where it must sit, 4 fingers made into a V shape around our ears, and 1 finger between the strap and our chin.

To be safe we must:  wear covered shoes, tuck our pants into our socks so they don't get caught in the chain and wear a vest.

We should ride a bike that is the correct size for us.  We must be able to touch the ground when on our seats.  Will hopped on a bike that was too big for him.

Our bikes must have brakes that work, a red back reflector, and reflectors on the pedals and wheels.

We are not allowed to ride our bikes on the road without a adult supervising us as we are too young.  Bikes are not allowed on the footpath as they are designed for feet!!  You can scooter on the footpath but you must hop off your scooter when you see someone.
