Cassie Duncan's Shortbread Recipe

Room 3 loved the shortbread so much, they wanted the recipe put up on our blog so that they can make it at home.  If you do make it with the children it is a great opportunity to talk about Fractions and Measurement.

Shortbread
250g butter
1/2 C castor sugar
vanilla essence
1/2 C rice flour
1/2 C plain flour

Cream butter and castor sugar together, add enough flour so the dough is not sticky and comes away from the side of the bowl.  Bake in oven at 170 degrees for 30-35 minutes for round shortbread like we did.
